Zinc Picolinate

Zinc is an essential trace mineral involved in over 300 enzymatic and metabolic processes, including DNA synthesis, immune regulation, protein synthesis, and cell division. [1] Zinc picolinate is a chelated form of zinc bound to picolinic acid (a natural metabolite), which helps improve its absorption in the gut compared to non-chelated forms.

In a meta-analysis of 25 clinical trials involving 1,428 participants, zinc lowered inflammation markers (CRP, IL-6) and boosted antioxidant protection. [1]

In women with PCOS, 50 mg/day elemental zinc for 8 weeks improved hirsutism, alopecia, and reduced oxidative stress markers. [2] Also, an umbrella review of 43 studies linked zinc to better sperm quality, improved zinc levels in the blood, and reduced inflammation. [3]
